The Osceola Water and Wastewater Department is dedicated to providing the community with a clean, safe, and reliable water supply, as well as a modern and efficient wastewater treatment system. The department works tirelessly to maintain and upgrade the city’s water and sewer infrastructure to meet the needs of residents and businesses, both today and in the future.
Water Department
The Water Department provides the city with high-quality drinking water sourced from the Wilcox Group Aquifer. Water is drawn from three wells, each drilled to a depth of 1,500 feet, ensuring a consistent and clean supply. The department utilizes modern treatment processes that include aeration and filtration to remove impurities and ensure the water meets or exceeds all federal and state standards for public health and safety. With over 45 miles of water mains and substantial storage capacity, the department is equipped to meet the city’s daily water demands while maintaining a reliable reserve for emergencies.
Wastewater Department
The Wastewater Department is responsible for the collection and treatment of the city’s wastewater. The system operates through a network of sewer mains and lift stations, transporting wastewater to a four-cell lagoon system for treatment. This treatment system is designed to handle the city’s flow and is a vital component in protecting the local environment and public health. The department is committed to effective and environmentally responsible wastewater management, ensuring that treated water is safely discharged in compliance with all regulations.
